Mediation
Mediation is about assisting two or more people (or groups), who are in conflict (or who foresee difficulties in the relationship in the future) to have a dialogue or negotiation, and to determine their own solution rather than accepting a decision imposed by a third party. The process is confidential, and this allows for open honest discussion of the issues, as well as the underlying emotions and needs.
Fiona is a strong believer in self-determination and empowerment, and that you are the expert on your own life. In Mediation you are the decision-makers; Fiona is there to support and guide you through the process and to pose the right questions for you to find your own solutions – ones that are right for you. She does not provide answers or advice, but instead offers information to assist you in gaining a better understanding of the mechanisms of conflict, and fundamental strategies for self-awareness and improved communication. Fiona aims to make the process transparent, so that you will leave the mediation with a handful of skills for your own toolbox that can be used in future conflict situations.
Mediation can be used to resolve disputes in a wide variety of contexts. Fiona specialises in the areas of Workplace, Family, Personal relationships, and Community.
